Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and anything you add to your profile: name, username, bio, location and avatar.
• Your builds — vehicle details you enter or that we identify (year, make, model, generation, paint, mileage, and optionally VIN or plate), modifications, service records, costs, wishlist items, reminders and notes.
• Photos and documents — car photos, receipts, invoices, Carfax-style reports and build sheets you upload, and the details we extract from them.
• Messages — messages you send to other owners through Rennen.
• Billing — if you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card. We only receive and store a customer reference, your plan and its status — never your full card number.
• Technical data — basic server logs (such as IP address, browser and error details) used to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

• To run your garage: store your builds, calculate service intervals, and show your history.
• To power AI features: identifying your car and its mods from photos, reading receipts and history documents, answering questions in the assistant, researching parts and estimating market value.
• To send the service reminders and account emails you've asked for.
• To process payments, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of providers to run Rennen. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
• Anthropic — the AI models that analyse the photos, documents and questions you send through AI features.
• Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
• Resend — email delivery for reminders and account messages.
• Vercel — website hosting.

These providers may store or process data outside your province or country, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law. We may also disclose information if required by law.

What's public

Your garage is private by default. If you make a build or profile public, the parts you choose to show — photos, mods, service history or investment — become visible to anyone with the link and may appear in Discover. Uploaded photos are stored at long, unguessable web addresses; anyone who has an image's address can view that image, so only share links you're comfortable sharing.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your selected vehicle. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is open. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account: this cancels any subscription, removes your files and deletes your builds, records and messages. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.

Your choices and rights

• Access, correct or export your information — most of it is editable in the app, or email us.
• Turn off reminder emails in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
• Withdraw consent and delete your account at any time.
• Ask us how your information is handled, or raise a concern, by emailing us.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to your account by database-level rules, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Rennen isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
